A new defeat at home Match - report 17 Dec Beerschot loses at home to Jong Gent.

Beerschot knew what it had to do after last weekend's defeat. Under pressure from the home fans, it started with attacking intentions. Beerschot had the better of the game and Vula almost scored the opening goal. His header hit the post. Beerschot should also have been awarded another penalty after a clear foul on Vula. The second half had only just kicked off when Jong Gent suddenly struck. Abdullahi won the aerial duel and headed the ball past Shinton. Beerschot was now behind. Ten minutes later, however, Beerschot deservedly equalized. A brilliant assist from Jordanov and Haraguchi calmly slotted home.

After that, Beerschot slowed down a bit and Jong Gent took the lead again with 20 minutes to go. Seck saw an opening from 40 meters and kicked the ball perfectly into the goal. Shinton was unable to prevent another deficit. The final score was 1-2, and Beerschot started the second half of the season on a sour note.
