Three very important points Match - report 09 Nov Beerschot has shown resilience! After last week's first defeat of the season, our boys managed to beat RWDM Brussels yesterday.

Just before kick-off, coach Messoudi had to make some changes to his starting eleven. Dagba was not fit enough and was replaced by Guendouz. That same Guendouz was brought down in the box after just fifteen minutes, earning Beerschot a penalty. Van Eenoo took responsibility, but goalkeeper Lathouwers was well positioned in the corner and made the save. Beerschot's dominance did not result in a lead for the time being.

The home team struggled to create any danger. RWDM only posed a threat from a few corner kicks, but Beerschot defended them convincingly and gave away very little. To make matters worse, RWDM was forced to make two substitutions in the first half due to injuries, which slowed down the pace of the game. Beerschot remained the better team, but the half-time score remained 0-0.

After the break, Frédéric Frans took action and brought on top scorer Robail. He immediately created danger, although his header went wide of Shinton's goal. Around the hour mark, Jordanov dived into the box, where he was clearly brought down. However, referee Van De Velde saw no foul.

Beerschot kept pressing and went all out for that deserved goal. With twenty minutes to go, Messoudi brought on extra attacking power with Wright-Phillips, who replaced Claes. And that proved to be the right move. Nine minutes before the end, Vula sent a good deep pass to Wright-Phillips, who went one-on-one with Lathouwers and finished calmly: 0-1 for Beerschot!

In the final minutes, our lads held on without much trouble, allowing us to add another three points to our tally. After last week's disappointment, this was the response we needed.

Next week there is an international break and Beerschot will not be in action. The next match is scheduled for Sunday 23 November, when we travel to Olympic Charleroi.
