K Beerschot VA 1 KV Kortrijk 2
First defeat of the season Match - report 03 Nov Yesterday saw the end of Beerschot's unbeaten run. Kortrijk came out on top and won at the Olympic Stadium. Beerschot started with attacking intentions, but it was the visitors who took the lead after just four minutes. Following a corner from Lennard Hens, Rudy Kohon headed the ball beyond Shinton's reach into the goal. Another goal conceded after a set piece, which meant Beerschot had to chase the game early on.

Nevertheless, the team did not let themselves be thrown off balance and tried to combine neatly, despite the slippery pitch. However, there were no major chances. Kortrijk had one more dangerous attack before half-time: Dejaegere took a shot that bounced just in front of Shinton. Our goalkeeper did not immediately control the ball, but managed to deflect De Smet's rebound into a corner. The score remained 0-1 at half-time.

The second half began with a substitution on both sides. Dejaegere, who was flirting with a second yellow card, remained in the dressing room for Kortrijk. Beerschot also had a player with a yellow card to his name: Andres Labie made way for Colin Dagba.

Beerschot went all out in search of the equaliser, with attempts from Jordanov, Vargas and Vula, but without success.
At the other end, Kortrijk proved to be efficient. A free kick from Lenn De Smet deflected off Claes' foot and landed right at the feet of Osifo, who easily beat Shinton. That made it 0-2.

In the 95th minute, Mbe Soh scored the consolation goal, but it came too late. Beerschot suffered its first defeat of the season and saw Kortrijk pull four points ahead.

Another important task awaits on Sunday, when Beerschot travels to the capital for the clash with RWDM Brussels.
