Lommel SK 1 K Beerschot VA 2
Beerschot turns the tables again and wins in Lommel Match - report 26 Oct Once again, Beerschot showed its resilience in the final stages of the match. Mo Messoudi's team won 1-2 in Lommel after a remarkable comeback. For the first time this season, captain Ryan Sanusi was back in the starting line-up for the Mannekes. He saw Beerschot take the initiative in the opening phase, but the necessary sharpness in front of goal was lacking. After six minutes, it was almost a goal at the other end: Tom Reyners, an old acquaintance, shot from distance, but goalkeeper Shinton made an excellent save.

Despite dominating possession, it was Lommel who struck after half an hour. After a corner, Schoofs rose highest and headed home to make it 1-0, which was also the half-time score.

After the break, Beerschot knew what it had to do. The visitors put Lommel under pressure and pushed closer and closer, although goalkeeper Pieklak was not really in trouble for the time being. Fifteen minutes before the end, Messoudi intervened and brought Brahic on to provide more power up front. It proved to be the right move.

Ten minutes before the end, Beerschot drew level when a cross from Mbe Soh via Wouters unfortunately ended up in his own goal: 1-1. The equaliser gave the visitors wings. Five minutes later, the decision followed: Brahic headed to Van la Parra, who kept his cool and set up Vula for the 1-2. In just a few minutes, Beerschot had completely turned the game around. After that, Beerschot held on fairly easily and is now unbeaten in ten league games. The Bears remain in the wake of the top two.

Next week, two home games await at the Kiel: Thursday against Westerlo in the Croky Cup, and Sunday the top match against Kortrijk in the league.
