K Beerschot VA 4 Royal Francs Borains 1
3 wins in a row for Beerschot in the competition Match - report 21 Sep Beerschot secured a convincing victory over Francs Borains in their own Olympic Stadium. After last week's victory, coach Mo Messoudi saw no reason to change his starting eleven. Beerschot also started with pressure up front, but failed to create any danger in the first fifteen minutes. After 18 minutes, the first chance came thanks to youth product Vargas, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Pandor. Two minutes later, Labie sent in a cross that found the head of Van la Parra, who was looking for his third goal in a row in the league. Once again, the Francs Borains goalkeeper made the save. It would not be the last time he was called into action.

In the 24th minute, the home team finally scored. A mistake at the back by Francs Borains was mercilessly punished by Glenn Claes, who scored his first goal for Beerschot. The Mannekes deservedly took a 1-0 lead. Beerschot then dropped back a little and allowed Francs Borains back into the game. After 45 minutes, however, the scoreboard still showed a 1-0 lead.

The second half began as the first half had ended. Beerschot allowed Francs Borains too much space and struggled to create chances. That was until the 54th minute, when Vargas made a strong run down the left and his cross ended up at the feet of Jordanov. He didn't hesitate and made it 2-0. It was also his first goal in purple and white.

With 20 minutes to go, Van Eenoo sent a long ball towards substitute striker Arnold Vula. He turned away from his defender and didn't hesitate. He curled the ball beautifully into the far corner to make it 3-0. Yes, it was also his first goal for Beerschot. Suddenly, it all happened very quickly. Less than three minutes later, Van la Parra coolly kicked the ball into the net to make it 4-0. The match was over.

Van Oudenhove's 4-1 was nothing more than a footnote. Beerschot convincingly beat Francs Borains and, with 9 out of 9 points, travelled to Geel for the match against Jong Genk.
