How does Loïc reflect on that game? “We actually started the match quite well, but after about fifteen minutes Beveren took control. In the dressing room during half time, we agreed to treat the second half as a new game — and you could see that on the pitch. We played much better after the break. Looking at the overall picture, I think a draw was a fair result. Once again, we showed that we can come back from behind and that we’re resilient.”
The next few weeks will be a real test for Beerschot, with tough fixtures against Lommel, Westerlo, Kortrijk, and RWDM. “I know it sounds like a cliché, but we really take it game by game,” says the 24-year-old Frenchman. “Tomorrow we face Lommel — a very strong team with a lot of technical quality, but so do we. It’s going to be a match between two sides that like to play football. For us, the key will be to make the most of the chances we create.”
After nine games, Beerschot remain unbeaten and will travel to Limburg with confidence. “We want to keep this run going as long as possible. I’ve heard that a lot of our fans will be making the trip to Lommel again. Their support will be crucial. The stands are close to the pitch there, so we’ll definitely feel their presence. I’m really looking forward to it,” Loïc concludes.
