Wingback Mardochée Nzita has signed a contract until June 2025. He is Beerschot's fifth young, Belgian and talented newcomer in this summer's transfer window. Nzita worked his way up through the Anderlecht Academy, joined Perugia in the Italian Serie B in 2019 and was then loaned out to Pescara in the Serie C where he played 27 games last season.
"Mardochée is a modern and offensive wingback", technical manager Sander Van Praet praises his latest acquisition. "He gained a lot of experience during his two year stay in Italy. His running ability is a bonus and I am confident he will adapt easily to our game."
"That is one of my strong assets indeed", Nzita acknowledges. "Not only am I physically strong, I am technical very well educated as well. In Italy I learned a lot of the tactical approach which is one of the more important elements over there. I can honestly say I've become a complete footballer. I guess the Italian Serie B can easily be compared to the Belgian Division 1B. Those physical duels don't scare me off. I am ready for this new challenge at Beerschot."
