Beerschot welcomes Manisha Thakker as its latest newcomer in the Operational Board. The experienced Antwerp company director, who already was a member of our club’s Advisory Board, earned her business degrees in the beer and diamond sectors. She will be using her knowledge in marketing, sales, strategy and finance to give Beerschot more exposure in its further development.
Manisha was born in Uccle and lives in Aartselaar. She graduated in Applied Economic Science, got Master degrees at Universities of Nancy, Washington and New York. And is guest teacher at VUB.
Manisha Thakker looks ahead. “It is my goal and ambition to help Beerschot getting ready for the future. Lots of challenges beckon and I want to use my experience to make sure this club will be selfsustaining as soon as possible. I am happy with this opportunity here at Beerschot and fit perfectly in Johan Cruijff’s philosophy that “you win as a team”…
“With Manisha we add a lot of experience to our team”, chairman Francis Vrancken says. “She has strategic insight in abundance which is necessary with a view to realisations we want to achieve in the future.”
Vice chairman Walter Damen: “It feels great we are able to welcome the first woman to our Board. Football has been a man’s world for much too long and within Beerschot we want to change that. I want to be very specific: we didn’t opt for Manisha just because she is a woman but for the fact she is a clever and talented business woman with fresh ideas.”
