BILL LATHOUWERS IS BEERSCHOT'S NEW GOALKEEPER

Beerschot have signed goalkeeper Bill Lathouwers on a free transfer from Waasland-Beveren. The 22 year old's contract expires in 2024, with an option for another txo seasons.

Lathouwers was a member of both the Beerschot and Antwerp Academy before turning pro in 2018 at Antwerp. After two years he moved to MVV Maastricht in Holland, then to Waasland Beveren in the Belgian Division 1B.

"I had a good chat with Beerschot's management and the new head coach before putting pen to paper", Lathouwers says. "It is also nice to be back to where it all started for me. As a youngster I watched quite a few matches of Beerschot at the Olympic Stadium. It really is a privilege to be part of Beerschot's first team squad right now. I am more than ready to work together with the other goalkeepers at the club and challenge for the top spot between the posts."

Bill Lathouwers will train with the group for the first time on Wednesday.
