WELAT CAGRO IS OUR NEW MIDFIELDER

Beerschot completed the signing of Welat Cagro, a 24 year old midfielder from Kurdish origin. He signed a contract until June 2025 and will join the group on thursday.

Cagro grew up in Brussels and went through the Youth Academies of Anderlecht, KV Mechelen and OH Leuven, then played in the Armenian top division before moving to Holland to join Telstar and NAC Breda in the Keuken Kampioen Diviision, the second tier in Dutch pro football.

"After his rehabilitation from a knee injury he is now fully fit and immediately deployable" technical manager Gyorgy Csepregi explains. "He trained with PEC Zwolle the last couple of weeks but eventually opted for Beerschot where he signed a performance oriented contract."

"With 50 games in the Dutch second division under his belt Welat is an experienced midfielder. On top of that he is familiar with Andreas Wieland's tactical system. He is technically strong  and powerful in one on one situations, which is an interesting profile in our midfield."
