Central defender Félix Nzouango has joined Beerschot on a 2 year contract, with an option for an extra season. The 20 year old Frenchman joins from Juve Next Gen, Juventus second team who are competing in Italian's Serie C.
He was born in Creil, 45 kilometres from Paris, started playing football at his local club AFC Creil before joining Amiens an then moved on to Juventus. In Turin he made 55 appearances with the Primavera (U19) and 10 in Serie C. Nzouango is a regular youth international for France. Last May he played with "les Bleus" at the World Cup U20 where he scored a goal in France's 3-1 win over Honduras.
"Félix is a valuable reinforcement to our squad", technical manager Gyorgy Csepregi says. "French youth international don't often join clubs in the Belgian Challenger Pro League. Hardly ever. We have been following him since last January, contacted him almost immediately and have now agreed terms with him. He is powerful in one-against-one situations, strong in the air and uses both his feet, which means he can play in all defensive positions."
