TOM REYNERS SCORES THE ONLY GOAL
Beerschot - Den Bosch: 1-0
Beerschot beat FC Den Bosch in a friendly in the Olympic Stadium. Tom Reyners scored the only goal of an entertaining game of football in which our Mannekes dominated the second half and should have scored more... but Sanusi, Van Himbeeck and Michez were all denied by the woodwork.
No clear chances and lots of midfield play in the first half. Only Michez came close when he was sent through the Dutch defence, but the goalkeeper saved his shot. On the stroke of half time Sanusi saw his free kick hit the post.
The goal Beerschot deserved came early in the second half: Nzita providing, Reyners putting the ball in the net, after a fluent combination that started with goalkeeper Lathouwers. A peach of a goal. It was one way football from that moment, with Beerschot creating quite a few goalscoring opportunities. Both Van Himbeeck and Michez were unlucky when their shots rebounded from the post and the Den Bosch goalkeeper produced a miraculous save when Sanusi hit out from on the edge of the box.
Beerschot fielded: Lathouwers, Oetoeghanal, Matthys, Meisl, Reyners, Kosiah, Koide, Sanusi, Koshi, Nzita, Cagro, Pauwels, De Stobbeleir, Van Himbeeck, Djoum, Nzouango, Konstantopoulos, Osei bonsu, Matijas en Michez.
