CHANCES GALORE BUT NO GOALS

Beerschot – Beveren 0-0

Beerschot and Beveren shared the points in the Olympic Stadium on Saturday. Our Mannekes were the better team on the night but couldn't find a hole in the visitors' defence who had parked their bus in the box.

Andreas Wieland's team took control over the game right from the start and pushed Beveren deep in their defence... however without creating openings or scoring opportunities. The visitors speculated on the counter and were almost successful when Salech headed in from a high cross. Konstantopoulos saved on the goal line and later also blocked a shot from the same Beveren striker.

Beerschot pushed back Beveren even harder after the break, with Thibaud Verlinden claiming an important role in our combinations. Michez aimed for the far corner but his shot went wide. Minutes later Verlinden was at his best again with a through ball to Kosiah and a dangerous shot. Beveren goalkeeper Reus saved handsomely.

Beveren thereatened just the once with a dropping shot from Geussens towards the far post but Matijas palmed the ball away in corner. In the final miunutes both teams ran out of steam. Only Sanusi came close but again Reus saved. Nil-nil the final score.

Beerschot: Matijas, Matthys, Reyners, Alhassan, Kosiah, Verlinden, Sanusi, Nzita, Cagro, Konstantopoulos, Michez.
Beveren: Reus, Bateau, Limbombe, Wuytens, Geusens, Salech, Hrncar, Corryn, Verstraete, Coopman, Goncalves
