BEERSCHOT UNVEIL BUILDING PLANS FOR NEW TRAINING GROUND FACILITIES
Beerschot unveiled and confirmed their plans to build brand new training ground facilities for the first team and the Youth Academy at the Universiteitsplein site. The prestigious project will cost 7 million euros and will be financed by our shareholders and "Sport Vlaanderen". Our club hopes to move in at the start of the 2023-2024 season.
Our first team and the Youth Academy will share the new building in their respective wings with seperate changing rooms, fitness facilities and medical cabinets. There will be a Players Lounge at the one end and a multifunctional sports hall for the academy and the "Topsportschool' at the other. Supplemented with offices for the technical staff and youth collaborators.
The total cost of 7 million euros will be neatly divided by the club shareholders' extra investment (according to the current distribution of the shares) and a grant from Sport Vlaanderen. Important in all this is that the money will not come from the club's sporting budget but will be released by the owners.
The brand new building and its facilities will further intensify the collaboration between Beerschot and Topsportschool and benefits the development of our youth players.
Beerschot and the City of Antwerpen signed an 'agreement in principle' about the granting of the leasehold of the grounds at the Universiteitsplein site. Our club will submit the building permit by the end of this month and hope to start with the building works at the end of the current season. During the building works our first team squad will continue with their training session at the Universiteitsplein. However a couple of our youth teams will have to move temporary to a new location.
With this big investment Beerschot commits itself to further professionalism. The future is ours!
