KV Kortrijk – Beerschot 0-1
Nice and deserved win for Beerschot on Friday night. Our Mannekes won a friendly against Division 1A side KV Kortrijk with 1-0, Ayouba Kosiah scoring the only goal. KV Kortrijk were very much second best on the night and were lucky when Beerschot twice hit the woodwork in a very promising first half.
Andres Wieland's team started well, Simion Michez saw his shot come off the post and threatened on several more occasions. KV Kortrijk's only response came when Avenatti was sent through. His shot went over.
Just before the half hour the game became more and more entertaining with Beerschot setting the pace... and scoring. Verlinden found Reyners, who crossed to Nzita and Kosiah found the net from his pass. Five minutes later Kosiah nearly doubled Beerschot's advantage but his drive came back off the post. Also Sanusi fired a hard shot but goalie Vandenbergh saved.
KV Kortrijk came better into the match after the break without creating real chances. Beerschot were again more dangerous after a neat Koide-Osei Bonsu move and a nice solo from Keanu De Stobbeleir. Great win.
