Beerschot started the game with plenty of energy and quickly built a two-goal lead. First, Magidigidi produced a fantastic lob to make it 0-1, before Dennis Gyamfi doubled the advantage: 0-2.

The home side, however, refused to be shaken and fought their way back into the game. Crossing Schaarbeek scored twice to level the score after 35 minutes: 2-2.

The Mannekes still managed to restore their lead before half-time. Bas Van den Eynden calmly converted a penalty to put Beerschot back in front, before Glenn Claes added a fourth shortly afterwards. Beerschot therefore headed into the dressing room with a comfortable 2-4 lead.

The spectacle continued after the break. Both teams continued to look for more goals, although the goals came at a slower pace than in the first half. Ten minutes after the restart, Schaarbeek found the back of the net again to reduce the deficit to 3-4.

Beerschot remained in control of the game and continued to look for the decisive goal. That moment came five minutes before the final whistle, when Lukas Van Eenoo made it 3-5 and put the game beyond doubt.

The Mannekes held on to their advantage and secured a 3-5 victory. Beerschot therefore advances to the next round of the Croky Cup, where they are guaranteed to face a top-flight side.
